McArthur Place was modelled off the success of Ambrose Place. Its opening in 2023 was an important addition to Edmonton’s supply of housing and allowed a high level of care to be provided to 50 additional people experiencing houselessness. The complex:

• is for individuals with higher needs including mental illness, addictions, chronic health conditions,

  cognitive impairment, and disruptive trauma symptoms;

• contains 50 supportive housing units;

• includes one bedroom and bachelor suites as well as 15 accessible units;

• provides access to cultural support and Ceremony through regular visits from the NiGiNan Cultural

  Team;

• has embedded staffing services including housing support workers, health supports, and life skills

  workers;

• provides 24/7 health care services including coordinated pharmacy services;

• offers specialized programs for managed alcohol and cannabis use (a.k.a. MAP and MCP programs); and

• is located in the mature neighbourhood of Wellington in North Edmonton, offering access to

  local shops and a well-established suburban neighbourhood.
